Good morning! Thanks to all of the Virginia Beach Civic League Officers and members who showed up for our cookout lats night! I did not do a head count, but I guess we had about 60 people gather to socialize, discuss neighborhood issues, get to know one another and enjoy themselves. Also, thanks to Sheriff Rocky Holcomb and John Moss for stopping in to join us. Special thanks to the Virginia Beach Council of Civic Organizations Officers, Directors and volunteers who attended and made this event happen: Bill Filbert, Rick Manolio, Andrea Lindemann, Kathie McGrattan, Linda Spalding, and Donna Sandloop. This was a great group and community effort and we hope to do another before the weather gets too cold. Also, special thanks to Kellie Astin, the property manager at Ocean Lakes, for her hospitality and for the use of their facility for the past 3 months while Bow Creek Rec Center was hosting kid's programs for the out of school children.
