RESOLUTION TO SCHEDULE MONTHLY MEETINGS OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF VIRGINIA BEACH FOR JANUARY 2026 TO DECEMBER 2026 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Virginia Beach regularly meets on the second Wednesday of every month for its regularly scheduled meetings, and applications on such agendas require advertising as required by law; and WHEREAS, on occasion the Chairman, or in his or her absence the Vice-Chairman, may find and declare that weather or other conditions are such that it is hazardous for members to attend the regularly scheduled meeting; and WHEREAS, such findings shall be communicated to the members and the press as promptly as possible; WHEREAS, the Planning Commission will in such a situation hear the applications scheduled for the cancelled meeting at its next regularly scheduled meeting, without further advertising in accordance with Virginia Code Section 15.2-2214; and WHEREAS, a copy of this Resolution shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation at least seven days before the January 2026 meeting date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA: That in accordance with Virginia Code Section 15.2-2214, the Planning Commission establishes its regularly scheduled public hearing meetings at noon on the second Wednesday of every month from January 2026 to December 2026, and its informal hearings at 9:00 AM on the same dates listed here: January 14, 2026 February 11, 2026 March 11, 2026 April 8, 2026 May 13, 2026 June 10, 2026 July 8, 2026 August 12, 2026 September 9, 2026 October 14, 2026 November 12, 2026 *hearing will be held on the 2nd Thursday of the month due to the City being closed in observance of Veteran's Day, December 9, 2026. If a meeting is cancelled due to hazardous conditions, the applications thereon shall be continued to the next regularly scheduled meeting without further advertising.
